The Renata França Method conquers the world! On 6 May 2024, the Met Gala took place, an annual event that not only inaugurates the Costume Institute's fashion exhibition at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, but is also recognised as the most chic and exclusive red carpet event in the world of fashion and entertainment. It's a night when fashion icons, celebrities and high-profile personalities come together, always eager to show off their best versions.
To help, New York-based Pupil Liz Soares performed methodical massages on three top celebrities: Naomi Campbell, Bruna Marquezine and Vittoria Ceretti.
We wanted to talk to her about this experience, which marks a milestone in her career! Here's what she had to say.
How long have you been working with the Renata França Method?
I took the course in 2019 with Renata in São Paulo, and I haven't stopped since. It was only during the pandemic that I temporarily suspended my services, but as soon as I could, I started again.
What's it like working with the Method in New York?
Working with the Method in New York is a wonderful experience. I'm passionate about it and so are my clients. In addition, as New York is a tourist city with many events, it receives visitors from all over the world, which brings a unique diversity to my services. I feel very privileged to work in such a multicultural city.
Do people know about and often ask for the Renata França Method?
Yes, the method is becoming increasingly well-known and sought-after. I'm very often contacted by people who already know about it and are specifically looking for it. Often, when people contact me, they've already told me about the method or found me through the website. It's gratifying to be able to follow this growth and see that more and more people are interested in its benefits.
Do you serve more Americans or Brazilians?
I serve more Brazilians than Americans, but most of my regular customers are neither Brazilians nor Americans. They're people from other countries who live here. But the number of Americans looking for the method has increased, largely thanks to recommendations from people who live here, or people passing through who are already customers of other Pupilas in their country.
How did you meet your VIP customers? Like Vittoria and Bruna.
Vittoria came to us through Carolina, a trainer at the Method in Milan. In 2021, she contacted me to do the Miracle Touch.
As for Bruna, I met her through another of my VIP clients, Rodrigo Branco. Every time he comes to New York, he books the Miracle Touch and Miracle Face with me too. He gave my number to Bruna and several other people.
How do you look after your customers?
All the care needed to make them feel as comfortable as possible. From creating a calm and welcoming environment to using the appropriate technique (Lymphatic Drainage, Modelling, Miracle Touch, Babymoon) for their specific needs, my priority is to ensure an invigorating experience for the client. And I always listen to each client's individual comments and preferences, to ensure that each massage session is personalised and satisfying.
Do you have an advertising and marketing strategy?
I don't really have a formal advertising or marketing strategy, but my diary is always full. I think my emphasis on quality of service and word of mouth from satisfied clients has helped. I publish a few posts on Instagram, but I haven't been as active due to lack of time. However, I plan to have someone to help me in this area soon.
What advice would you give to beginners?
My advice is to devote yourself a lot, both to study, because it's very important to know the anatomy and physiology of the human body, and to practising all the techniques learned in the method. Always be attentive to the comments and individual preferences of each client, ensuring that each session is personalised and satisfying. You should also remember the importance of taking care of yourself to ensure that you are in the best possible physical and mental state when serving your clients.
