ESSENTIAL TOOL In a competitive market yet lacking qualified labor, knowledge continues to occupy one of the most important places. The year 2022 brought with it the responsibility of being the period of economic recovery, physical and mental health, "normal" life - even while waiting for a "new" normal, and finally, the resumption of hope for better days. But the much-welcomed rebirth brought with it the same challenges of pre-pandemic and pre-vaccine periods: the need to stand out in a highly competitive market. Contrary to this requirement, there's another obstacle: the scarcity of qualified people. A survey by ManpowerGroup indicated that the lack of skilled labor in Brazil reached a record level in 2022, with a mark of 80%. This shortage undermines the ability to meet customer needs, further affecting productivity and competitiveness. Space for Knowledge This labor market context highlights the importance of seeking knowledge. For this reason, the famous phrase eternalized by American diplomat Benjamin Franklin may be more relevant than ever: "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." For Guido Pavan, CEO of the Spa Renata França Group, the market is leaving less and less room for amateurs. "The world increasingly belongs to specialists. And for someone to become a reference in their field, seeking knowledge is one of the most important decisions," he states. It is in this direction that Spa Renata França, a company founded by esthetician Renata França and her partner Pavan, has been steering its steps. In partnership with Trevisan School of Business, they developed the MBA in Aesthetic Business Management, aiming to provide tools that help people manage their own business. "Many professionals have the technical skill and deliver their best in what they do, but a good part is unaware of the strategies necessary to manage their business and make it effectively work, bringing the expected results," highlights the executive, adding: "Only through knowledge is it possible to reduce potential risks and maximize gains." The MBA Tool: The MBA in Aesthetic Business Management is 100% focused on the business in aesthetics, as its name suggests, and is composed of four modules, divided into disciplines that form important pillars in the management of a company: Organizational Management, Marketing and Business Intelligence, Business and Client Management, Financial Management, Governance, and Processes. The methodology used is the Collaborate platform, which features live online classes. Recognized by the Ministry of Education – MEC, any professional can take the MBA, from those with technical training to graduates, which facilitates access to education for those who want to learn how to run their company, whether it's large, medium, or a sole proprietorship. “Many think that only those who have a clinic or a spa network have a business to manage. In reality, every freelance professional is a business,” emphasizes Pavan. Aesthetics in Numbers: The Brazilian beauty market moved R$ 150 billion in 2021 and has recorded significant growth in recent years, even in a challenging scenario. The country is among the highest consumers of aesthetics in the world, ranking third, just behind the United States and China. Moreover, from 2014 to 2019, the aesthetic market grew more than 500% in Brazil, according to research. During this period, the number of professionals in the field increased from 70,000 to approximately 500,000. The estimate is that the aesthetics segment will continue to perform above the rest, with growth exceeding the 6% recorded in 2021, according to Pavan. “I believe it will reach double digits in 2022, even with a GDP growth projection of around 1.5%,” he adds. RF Method A reference in immediate-result massage, the Renata França Method is present in 56 countries and has more than 13,000 professionals trained in the technique worldwide.
